What “bamboo“ towels really are
Most towels sold as “bamboo“ are made from viscose (rayon) produced from bamboo pulp, usually blended with cotton.
The bamboo is dissolved and turned into a soft regenerated fibre. That fibre gives the towel its silky hand and good absorbency.
How US rules treat this: the FTC says these towels must be labelled as rayon or viscose “made from bamboo“, not simply as “bamboo“.
In 2022 the FTC fined Kohl's and Walmart a combined $5.5 million over “bamboo“ labels and unsupported eco claims.

Duty and shipping
US duty depends on the blend.
A towel that is mostly cotton is classified differently from one that is mostly viscose, and the rates are not the same.
Goods from India also currently pay an additional tariff.
Please confirm the HTS code and total duty for your exact blend with your customs broker before ordering.
We ship FOB Nhava Sheva (JNPT) to US ports, usually in about four to six weeks.

FAQs
Can we call them “bamboo towels“?
You can mention bamboo, but the fibre label and product claims must say rayon or viscose made from bamboo. Your own legal adviser should approve final wording.
Are bamboo towels antibacterial?
Viscose made from bamboo does not keep any natural antibacterial property of the plant, so we recommend not making that claim.
