The lead time on your order does not begin when you send the purchase order. It begins when you approve the lab dip. WHAT HAS TO HAPPEN, IN ORDER Lab dip approved. Yarn sourced and dyed to that standard. A loom slot. Weaving. Finishing and washing. Cutting and stitching. Packing to your spec. Inspection. Container booking and sailing. Every week spent deciding on a shade is a week added at the front, and it is the stage buyers most often lose time on without noticing. WHAT MAKES IT LONGER Jacquard branding, because the loom has to be set up for your artwork before anything is woven. Certified organic, which needs certified yarn sourced and the chain documented, and that always takes longer than conventional. Peak season. Southern hemisphere programmes are produced while Indian mills are filling northern summer orders, and vice versa. Ordering mid-year for an Australian or Gulf winter season gets you loom time. Ordering in September does not. THE HONEST PART A supplier who promises you a very short lead time during peak season is doing one of two things: shipping something they already hold, which means it is not built to your specification, or committing to a date they will miss. Ask what stage of the process their quoted time starts from, and ask what happens if it slips. Ours starts at lab dip approval, and we will tell you in writing what the date assumes.
